Was your child born between 1 September 2014 and 31 August 2015?
Will they have reached the age of 11 by August 31st, 2026?
If so, your child will have the opportunity to start in Year 7 at a Secondary school in September 2026.
If your child is currently in Year 6, you can apply for secondary education using the application form available on this page.
The closing date for secondary school place applications for children born between 1st September 2014 and 31st August 2015 was 3rd November 2025.
If you've already applied, we'll let you know the outcome on 2nd March 2026.
Applying after the closing date
If you're applying after the closing date (Monday 3rd November 2025), your application will be considered as late. This means that your child may have less opportunity to be allocated to your preferred school and, for this reason, we recommend that you name more than one preference when applying.
Late applications will be considered together, regardless of date received, against the oversubscription criteria detailed in our Guide to Education.
If you make any amendments to an on-time application or resubmit a new application, after the closing date, we will consider this as a new application which will replace anything previously received and will be recorded as late.

All applications must be received by the closing date.
Late applications are dealt with after those received on time, so it is important that you meet the deadline. Although it is possible to submit an online application after the deadline, if you apply after the end of the allocation period (5 January 2026) the application cannot be processed until after the national offer date (2 March 2026).
