Battle's Over Beacons of Light

Bagillt Dragon 371_1.jpgÂé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ joins a nationwide Day of Commemorative Events marking the Centenary of the end of the First World War and paying tribute to the millions killed or wounded in battle, and those on the home front who struggled amidst pain and loss to help ensure freedom survived.

Over 1000 Beacons of Light will be lit throughout the nation symbolising an end to the darkness of war and a return to the light of peace.Ìý Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾â€™s beacons will join Beacons of Light on this special evening marking the end of 4 years of war.ÌýÌý

Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ Countryside Services, in partnership with other organisations, extend an open invitation to the community to join them and local groups on Sunday 11 November along Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾'s coast and parks to come together for the lighting of the beacons.Ìý Ìý

Meeting is 6.30pm with lighting 7pm.

Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾â€™s Cabinet Member for Streetscene and Countryside, Councillor Carolyn Thomas, said:
