Business advice - Trading Standards
This is a free service where trained officers will provide advice and guidance to all Â鶹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ traders to help them comply with the legislation we enforce. Business advice is not given in relation to civil disputes between businesses.
We:
- aim to ensure a safe and fair trading environment for consumers and businesses alike
- enforce the law and regulations that govern goods and services which we all buy, hire or sell.
- promote fair, safe and honest trading practices in Â鶹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾.
- have a statutory duty to enforce a wide range of consumer laws and provide help and advice to businesses and consumers.
- enforce consumer protection legislation covering unsafe goods, product descriptions, short weight etc and have powers to ensure compliance with the law.
